Asmundson & Company, Inc. was founded in November 1998 and is a full service golf course design fi rm. Michael S.
Asmundson, President, has seventeen years of experience working on numerous distinctive golf courses throughout the
United States, Asia, and South America.
Golf courses are important components of extended resort and residential projects. To be successful, it is essential that they
be well conceived and adapted to the site, development program, and marketing forces. The design development of the golf
course is a collaborative process that requires engineering and environmental problem solving between each component
of the project. Asmundson & Company, Inc. has the requisite experience to meet these objectives.
Our experience provides a sound methodology from consultation, planning, and preliminary design through the production
of construction documents, bidding and negotiation, as well as construction observation and administration. With the aid
of computer drawing programs including AutoCAD 2000 and AutoDesk’s LandDevelopment software, we produce clear
and concise construction documents for competitive bidding. We are available through all construction phases to interpret
and adapt the golf course while maintaining quality and cost controls.
We believe that golf courses should be more traditional in character, yet environmentally responsive. They should simultaneously
challenge low handicap players while providing an enjoyable experience for the less accomplished players who
support the game.

I am a golf designer who has done many possibly more than 100 golf courses in my carreer which has not slowed down. I just finished a championship golfcourse in washington wich I am very excited about. Many of my designs are in south america which I love dearly, such a beautiful land and such beautiful people. I have worked on courses in arizona hawaii and many other states. my company builds the course from design to building it completely we see the project to its end but I also provide consulting to golf courses and golf course designers and builders for a number of things.

I love ecodesign and what I mean by this is economical and ecologicaly sound. you do not have to compromise quality to do things things infact it will bring the quality up and make your course worth more throught the years.

by econimaly sound I mean from start to finish. we work with the natural landscapes as much as posible to keep construction down. we design water stations and delivery systems that are easy to manage and take the least amount of piping and motor power possible by using the landscape and gravity in the design. we also set up the sprinklers to be easy to manage and modify and maintainance in the future having them all controlled by computers wich can save you money in watering fees and electricity fees in the long run as a course owner. not only do we make the construction fees less by using the land and natural forces. we also design courses to be mantained economicaly. this is a huge perogative of my company. we take pride in our work and dont want to see them shut down. for a course to last the test of time it must be economically sound to maintain it.

by ecologically sound.. this encompasses many things. I believe in working with the plants native to the land as much as possible wich is good for the ecosystem and wildlife in the area. also by keeping the maintainance fees down with the sprinkler system you will lessen your carbon footprint. I have done a few golf courses to help clean contaminated sites. basically I believe in being responsible with our planet and land. I love the land I sculp it like an artist I dont want to hurt it.

I eat sleap and breathe golf. If I dont get to hit atleast 100 balls a day I dont quite feel myself. I own a golfcourse in beautiful port townsend washington. the course is called discovery bay or disco bay for short. it was once called chevy chase. I have enjoyed adding onto this old historical 9 hole course. the back nine is my own creation. you know a designer cant own a course without adding his own touches. my golfcourse is unique and special because it is pet friendly. this year we have slashed our prices in half. I realy want golf accesable to everyone at every financial status. we are doing 20 dollars a game or 25 all day play as many games as you want. making our course the most affordable and the best value in the nation. the course is not what you would expect from such a low price. it is a amazing 18 holes with beatiful views of the mountains and ocean and great overgrown trees. this has the class and beauty of a very high prices private golf course but this is not your great grampa's stuffy old country club. we wanna shake things up abit keep the politics and snobbery out of things. we want you to feel at home, we want to be on a first name basis with all our members and visitors.come play golf with us.

ok enough shameless promotion of my golf course wish is open to the public, I promise I will stop talking about how amazing it is if you just come and see it. we are planning many fun events.

golf courses I have designed.
